Real Wedding - Lauren & Brian III

So, here's a great way to end your week - looking through more gorgeous pics from Lauren and Brian's Gedney Farm wedding!

Here are some words of wedding-planning-wisdom from the bride herself: "On my last day of work, just two days before I walked down the aisle, a coworker of mine imparted some really simple, yet really memorable advice: don't forget to be there. He had just been married a few months before and it was the only piece of advice that he remembered on his big day. Turns out, the same hed through for me! With all the whirlwind of emotion on your wedding, remembering to be there and soak everything in can sometimes get thrown to the wayside. And remembering to do so left me with some great memories that I'll surely treasure my entire life!"
For their honeymoon, Lauren and Brian decided on the Post Ranch Inn, in Big Sur, California. "We stayed in a treehouse overlooking the Pacific Ocean. It was easily the most amazing place we've ever been to!"

That really sounds incredible! We wish this beautiful couple all the best, and thank them for sharing their wedding with us!

Real Wedding - Lauren & Brian II

I've soooooo been looking forward to posting more about this beautiful couple and their wedding! Lauren and Brian's creatively inspired wedding at MA's Gedney Farm was, as they had hoped, earthy and organic, and full of love (as evidently portrayed in this gorgeous photo, of course)!

"Even though our ceremony was the least demanding part of our planning, reciting our vows was hands-down my favorite part of the day. From the get-go, we wanted to write our own vows, and even though we only finished writing them five minutes before we took the trip down the aisle, it was completely worth the effort and commitment."
Lauren is wearing the classic "Francie" gown by Coren Moore, paired with a Lime sash for a little flare...which matches her husband's Coren Moore men's tie, also in Lime (which, yes, also matches the groom's sneakers...adorable).
I love how, from the small details to the bigger parts of their wedding, Lauren and Brian put their own little twists on otherwise classic elements - from the location to the food to the music, and decor - rustic and comtemporary definitely intertwine seamlessly...and who would have thought to include fresh mushrooms in a centerpiece? It somehow works brilliantly! So unique, yet entirely fitting.

"Brian and I are huge fans of modern American cuisine, and the chef at Gedney Farm was very eager to work with us to make our menu 'just right.' We also wanted to have a menu that could be enjoyed by guests of all ages, so we tried to include lots of 'fun' foods - like mac-and-cheese as one of our passed hors d'ourves...We also had a tough time deciding between a classic cake and the not-so-traditional berry pie for dessert, so in the end we had a simple solution: we chose both! Guests really enjoyed having the option - and most went for a piece of each!"

Real Wedding - Lauren & Brian

Ok, you know when you see some one's wedding photos and just WISH you had been there? That's what happened when we saw Lauren and Brian's photos...you can just really feel the love and the energy and the happiness in these images. Seriously, I wanted to be this couple's friend, watch them get married, and celebrate with them afterward!

Their August 29, 2009 wedding took place at the beautiful Gedney Farm in New Marlborough, MA. "My husband and I are anything but traditional, and we wanted to find a place that was a little off the beaten (and expected) path. As soon as we walked onto the property, we knew that was the place that we were going to get married. The deal was sealed when we found out that the Farm accommodated dogs, which meant our German Shorthaired Pointer, Lily, got to be there for our big day."
These two musicians wanted to emit an organic, earthy feel for their wedding, and went with whites, greens, and browns as their colors. Lauren wore the Coren Moore Collection gown called the "Francie." Her Lime sash goes perfectly with her husband's Coren Moore tie, also in Lime (his groomsmen wore Coren Moore ties in Chocolate brown, which matched the Junior bridesmaid dresses).
This couple was creative, fun, quirky, and definitely made their wedding so unique and reflective of their personalities. "Above all else, both Brian and I thought it was really important to have fun at our wedding - and we wanted our guests to have the same experience. So we did our best to invoke lots of fun moments throughout the day."
Lauren tells us how she ultimately decided on her wedding gown: "I had actually already purchased a wedding gown when I walked into Coren Moore, and was there only to select dresses for the last-minute addition of my junior-bridesmaids to our wedding party. I wasn't completely in love with my first dress and purchased it because of the fact that I was running out of time more than anything else (At the time, I only had ten weeks left until my big day.)

"When I walked into the Coren Moore showroom, the 'Francie' dress immediately caught my eye, and I couldn't help but try it on. As soon as I stepped into the gown I fell head over heels for it and knew this was the dress I was meant to wear! Only thing was there was only six weeks until my wedding day...but the ladies of Coren Moore were awesome and made it happen!...I guess the old saying it right: when you find the right dress, you just know it's the one!"

Southern California Dream Wedding Giveaway!


A few weeks ago, Coren Moore was asked to participate in the Southern California Dream Wedding Giveaway. As part of the "Dream Crew," Coren Moore will be providing bridesmaid dresses for the wedding party of the lucky couple that wins the contest! This estimated six-figure wedding will take place on Sunday, June 27, 2010 at the Rancho de Las Palmas, in Moorpark, CA. The SoCal Dream Wedding organizers are currently accepting submissions of brides and grooms interested in being considered!
